Vintage Spokes Museum opened in the fall of 2006. It was a private collection of motorcycles and memorabilia that is now open to the public. The collection started with mostly Harley Davidson motorcyles, but now includes British, Japanese and Italian vintage bikes. Displayed throughout the museum is a rare and unique collection of riding belts, jackets, hats, signs, racing posters and AMA (American Motorcycle Association) items.
The museum also includes a room dedicated to old time riders and bike racers from the Rockford area dating back to the early 40's. With the help of a good friend Ethel Voy, the room which is called "Ethel's Room" also displays her own riding history which includes memorabilia and history on the Motor Maids and Tri-State Travelette's.
The museum is also home to some of the rarest Harley Davidson racing motorcycles, which includes a collection of all five XR750's factory racers, XRTT750, KRTT, WRTT, CRTT's, WR, RR250's, CRS, CR, and MX250's
Fifty bikes are displayed at one time, but the collection changes as bikes are rotated in and out of the museum.
